- Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr
OMAR RAMSDEN & ALWYN CARR
Omar Ramsden (1873-1940) and Alwyn Charles Ellison Carr (1872-1940) met at the Sheffield School of Art, where Ramsden attended evening classes from 1890. They both won four-year scholarships at the School, Carr in 1893 and Ramsden a year later. Their partnership was formed by February 1898, when they registered a mark in London. They worked initially at the Stamford Bridge Studios in Chelsea, moving to the Albert Studios in Battersea in 1901, and then to St Dunstan's Studios, Fulham in 1905. The partnership was dissolved in 1919
